i have recently discovered that i am bisexual. no problem. i told my mom because we talk about everything. when i told her she said it was " just a faze." and that I'll "grow out of it." i don't believe her. i am a part of a large African American family so it makes it harder to find people to talk to. naturally i have questions but no one to ask. so please anybody HEEEEELP!!!!!

When I came out I was told that it was a phase that most people "get over it". I hated that saying and it has been 12 yrs since I came out so I proved them wrong! If you need advice or someone to talk to just post away. The LGBT community will always be here.

Its hard when those closest do not accept that you are not pinstraight. Just dont worry about it. Be yourself and love who you are. Eventually they will realize that you are being serious. For now, tell them you still wish for them to support you in all aspects of what youre going through, because even if they believe its "just a faze" it shouldnt make it any less difficult or valid.
Do a little reserch into lgbt services in your community or those nearby. Many cities offer toll free help lines for when you absolutely need to talk. There are also many nationwide services available.
Best of luck! Stay strong!

I'm not coming out. My parents think bisexuality is "twisted". But they believe in gay rights. It's bullshit.. Also half of my family is made up of strict baptists, so that's a problem
