Every city is different when it comes to societies. Some are more accepting then others. Is your city open & accepting? What is their for the LBGT community to get together?
Where I live, its small and not that accepting. Some groups of people are, but for the most part, no. And their is only one thing for us. And that is Gay Starbucks night. But, its not well advertised and most people don't even know its their. And most of the people that do know, are generally over 30 or straight. Yes, you read that right. About half of the people their are actually straight......

My town is also really small, and it seems like people aren't so accepting, atleast not in my school. Everyone who is considered gay or lesbian is relentlessly harassed, even in front of teachers, and the school does nothing. If you report it without having proof, aka if it's not caught on their video cameras, YOU can get in trouble for it even if you have witnesses. My school sweeps everything under the rug. Most kids don't have any idea what trans means, or if they do they hate trans people. I'm guessing their parents are probably the same way, because most kids learn tolerance, or lack thereof at home.

I'm actually not sure how open my city actually is about this but I think we're quite open and accepting, we do have our own version of Pride.

In my hometown, it's a pretty small community and kind of narrow-minded :\
In the city that I live in now, (not too far away from my hometown) there's a little more acceptance, despite me living in a gay-hating state.[/size]

My town is not necessarily a small one, but it is definitely by no means a thriving metropolis, there is definitly very little acceptance however, in the immediate vicinity, and there is nothing that i am aware of in regards to meet ups or hangouts for the GLBT section of society. We have to travel to other locations nearer to the capital city to be truly accepted.

I live in Vegas and where I go to school I think it's okay. There are openly gay students at school(I wish I was one of them) and no one gets beat up or anything. But there are students who kind of make an awkwardness about it. There's lots of Christians at my school some are cool with gay people and some not. They started a Gator Gay-Straight Alliance club last year(I told my brother about it and he said, "alliance against what?"LOL), I don't know if it's still going but I think I should go. But I feel weird cuz I'm still in the closet and people might think I'm straight and I always hate that.
Somehow I think there are students who are in the closet like me or still discovering themselves. I always observe the girls in all my classes and wonder which one of them is gay. lol. I mean, it'd be so cool to talk to a girl who's also in the closet. *sigh*
